Bryology and Lichenology Paquette, Hayley [1], McMullin, Troy [2]. Macrolichens of Forillon National Park, Quebec, Canada. Macrolichen diversity is not well documented in many areas of North America. In Canada, knowledge of the macrolichen biota in national parks is surprisingly sparse. Forillon National Park in Quebec, Canada is one national park that does not have thorough documentation of its macrolichens. Consequently, we conducted a comprehensive survey of the macrolichens in the park and reviewed past collections to establish a baseline checklist of species. In total, we report 140 taxa in the park (139 species and two subspecies in 39 genera). One species, Melanohalea exasperata, is a first record for Canada; one species, Scytinium teretiusculum, is a first record for Quebec; three species; Bryoria salazinica, Cladonia labradorica, and Leptogium acadiense, are endemic to northeastern North America; one species; Parmelia fertilis, has a northern range extension; and one species; Hypogymnia subobscura, has an typically arctic affinity. We provide an annotated checklist and a key to the macrolichen species of Forillon National Park. Log in to add this item to your schedule
