Ethnonutraceutical Attributes of Annona reticulata.

Annona reticulata Linn. (Annonaceae) is a small deciduous highly important plant with medicinal value. Its wide distribution in tropical country like South America (Native), West Indies and India. The fruit is edible complete in food composition basically protein, vitamin, carbohydrate, seed with oil and with abundant secondary metabolites and principal source of therapeutically active compounds. Phytochemical and different product obtained from plant is used as medicines, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics and food supplements. It possesses medicinal properties such as anthelmintic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-diabetic, wound healing and cytotoxic effects. Traditional use of this plant is treatment of dysentery, ulcer, Diarrhoea and pediculosis. Several phytoconstituents have been identified from different parts of plants like stem bark contains tannins, alkaloids and phenolics. Leaves contain wide range of chemicals like alkaloids, amino acids, carbohydrates, steroids, flavonoids, tannins, glycosides and phenolics. Roots identified for acetogenin, alkaloid, protein, carbohydrats, flavonoids and tannins. Plant rich in minerals such as Ca, P, K, Mg, Na, Cl, S, Mn, Zn, F, Cu, Se, Co, Ni, and Cr.
