Recent Topics Posters Ahlquist , Tia K [1], Vincent, Michael [2]. Four new species in the Trifolium amabile species complex from the United States, Mexico, and Guatemala. Zohary and Heller recognized five varieties (var. amabile, var. hemsleyi (Lojac.) Heller & Zoh., var. longifoliolum Hemsl., var. mexicanum (Hemsl.) Heller & Zoh., and var. pentlandii Ball) within Trifolium amabile Kunth in their monograph of the genus Trifolium. Research has not supported these varieties, which had also been questioned by Zohary and Heller, as well as McVaugh, who in particular questioned the circumscriptions of the Mexican taxa. Analyses of the T. amabile complex have revealed four new species, which are described and illustrated below. Log in to add this item to your schedule
