Education and Outreach Rocha, Dawn [1], Shingoitewa, LeRoy [1], Buckles, Avi [2], McNair, Daniel [2]. Digital tools for obtaining knowledge of plants in the American Southwest. We present observations from a series of workshops organized by the Tonto National Forest Tribal Monitoring Program and WestLand Resources. The workshops focused especially on using digital tools for obtaining knowledge of plants in Arizona and surrounding regions, such as the Southwestern Environmental Information Network (SEINet) and the Native American Ethnobotany Database (BRIT). We also discuss limitations and ethical considerations when utilizing these kinds of digital resources, especially in the context of traditional ecological knowledge.
