Systematics Jabaily, Rachel [1], Shepherd, Kelly [2], Gardner, Andrew [3], Sessa, Emily [4]. Phylogeny informs the taxonomic revision of Goodenia sensu lato (Goodeniaceae). The large clade Goodenia sensu lato within the primarily Australian plant family Goodeniaceae was earlier established as paraphyletic, with many resultant generic and infrageneric taxonomic issues to address. To resolve these we utilized a combined approach of Sanger sequencing datasets with dense taxonomic sampling along with multiple datasets from genome skimming for a subset of taxa to create a well resolved, nearly comprehensively sampled phylogeny for the clade. In our taxonomic revision informed by this phylogeny we have opted to expand the definition of Goodenia by synonymizing smaller incorporated genera. Subclades within the expanded genus are recognized at various infrageneric levels, supported by morphological synapomorphies. Log in to add this item to your schedule
