The Potential of Machine Learning for Plant Biology

Zare, Alina [1].

Introduction to Machine Learning in Plant Biology: Overview, Potential, Challenges.

Machine Learning (and, particularly, Deep Learning) methods are being increasingly used in more and more application areas. However, successful application of machine learning approaches are generally to a select set of types of problems. In this talk, we will provide an overview of machine learning and its application in plant biology. We will also discuss some best practices and outstanding challenges of applying machine learning methods in practice.
